I try both mindfulness and meditation - for me, each has its challenges.
I literally forget to be mindful, especially at work. I need to make sure life doesn't eat me up. I am sticking with it. When I'm out of work, being mindful is a bit easier, especially when I'm out and about and its sunny or I'm doing something like fishing.
As for meditation, time and place is a challenge. I used to be able to do "minis" at work but I no longer have a quiet space like a private office. At home, I use music and focus on breathing and key words like "peace".
Overall, I've gotten a bit selfish over the past few months and it has sort of helped me. I'm not letting people drag me to and fro and I'm focusing much more on ME and my needs.
