I've certainly been in your shoes in certain jobs.
Not a nice feeling at all.
Can I challenge your thinking?
Is there ANY area in your organisation in which you could approach your direct manager/senior manager and actively ask if you are able to take up training and begin to contribute towards this?
Is there something you can offer that isn't already being offered?
Is there an area that would bring potential to your organisation that you can offer to bring forward; with the approval of management?
I don't know enough about your organisation to be able to answer this.
Think of Steve Jobs.
He used his power of Innovation Daily.
Think of all of the products and new designs he bought out.
Now I know the Iphone etc is not necessarily for everyone.
But I merely use this example for illustration purposes only.
