Well, I've wondered in the day and age of electronic medical records ... And I am always suspicious about questions etc if I don't know the doctor well - I wonder if they will believe me or chalk me up as a crazy or hypochondriac or just want attention.

Fortunately most of the physical issues I have been treated for since having a mental health history show up on my chart have been the kind of thing which are objectively, empirically verifiable - blood work, ultrasounds, etc aren't easy to "fake".

The most cringeworthy moment was when I went to a pulmonologist with breathing issues - I had a good idea what the condition might be but I was afraid the dr and staff would think "crazy" anyway. So they ran the standard tests - dr comes in starts going over them and the first thing was blood O2 within normal range, then lung volume 99% of normal. Then air intake ability normal - then he gets this look and I think "oh boy, here it comes, the you're just crazy speech" - and he proceeded to tell me my exhalation capacity was severely restricted and it was indicative of what I thought I had ... And he gave me 3 prescriptions which helped dramatically, at the follow up I was up to about 90# of normal vs about 37% untreated.

If you know it's physical you have to fight for the right diagnosis and not let them dismiss you symptoms or concerns
Thanks for this!
