So for those struggling to get prescribed DEX, hang in there, it can happen

The last few days though, having been looking into Atypical depression and alike Bipolar has come up, and I think I may suffer from it in addition to ADHD. Not sure yet whether Bipolar I or II, or possibly cyclothymia, i'm leaning towards one of the latter two though.

I'm going to be speaking to my pdoc this Friday about MAOIs, Mood stablisers and Bipolar.

So i'm just wondering of everyone elses experience on mood stablisers and stimulants, espcially if you tried stimulants first and alone, before the combination, that would be a big help for me in understanding everything.

Thanks
There's also a BP NOS classification in the DSM 5 and a "mixed features" specifier that can be added to either a MDD diagnosis or a BD diagnosis so you could have all kinds of fun picking a diagnosis if you wanted.
I'm on a stimulant, vyvanse, but have been on Adderall, both IR and XR, Dexedrine, Ritalin, Ritalin LA in the past. Have been on a stimulant for 20 plus years, since I was 8, so that definitely came first. Am also on abilify for MDD augmentation and Keppra and Topamax for myoclonus and a seizure disorder, those are occasionally used for mood stabilization as well, just not in my case, although I doubt they're hurting anything. I don't have any real issues with mood swings so I can't really comment on that, I have more issues with depression. The abilify has worked well for the depression and the vyvanse is doing it's job for the ADD. Do you have any specific questions?
