I find this more often than not, but I still go because I know that, even if I'm not able to perceive it, it's still helping me somewhat. I think. I hope.
To the OP, I used to feel the same way. And it truly can be difficult. I think that's part of getting a more healthy perspective is learning how to self-soothe and regulate your emotions in between your therapy appointments. No examples come readily to mind (I apologize, it's been a hectic day), but I do know that there are some good resources online from which you can gain some information. I have searched "DBT resources" or "dialectical behavioral therapy" or something to that effect and have come up with good info.
