Yes, they are skills to use constantly inside and out of therapy. My T taught me skills and referred to them as the need arose, but he wasn't one to do it constantly or in the form of worksheets or anything like that. Made good sense really. CBT skills are most helpful when you internalize them and they become habits of mind.
