(((Skittles)))

Honestly, I don't know how these people get jobs where they are dealing with people who need compassion. You can't wait till Monday...You need more lexapro now before you start withdrawing. One or two days is okay but 3? I don't think it is such a great idea. (Although the half-life of lexapro is pretty long).

Tell that b>>>> that you MUST speak to whoever is covering...that this is an emergency.
Just say it calmly and matter of factly, that this is an emergency. When she gives you attitude or a ridiculous comment, you can say, "Yes I understand, but i still need to speak to a doctor because I cannot afford to be without medication for 3 days. I may get very sick from not having it." (Then she'll worry about liability.)

I have also had success by validating the gate-keeper by saying, "Gee, I am so sorry to bother you, I can hear your frustration, but I must speak with the doctor today."

Don't take no for an answer because you deserve an answer.

If you feel you must, then tell them you have symptoms now. Or, even better, call the answering service when she is out to lunch or gone for the day and insist on a call back from the covering pdoc. A scrip can be called in to the pharmacy by either your pdoc or whoever is covering.

Hold your ground. I know you can do it

Good luck.
