I have a little cosmetic spot I have to deal with (not going into detail because I'm embarrassed) but I sometimes keep going when I shouldn't to other areas, a pluck, a pick, a shave, all that. One thing leads to another.
It's so tough when you're in the midst of it and even harder when it becomes habitual, but just setting a rule to stand by does help me. One rule at a time. Making a plan why I want to change something and how I will benefit. When I can follow the rule, it's really rewarding to see myself make the progress.
But it is hard, getting on and off the roller coaster. Good days and bad days. I think my biggest problem is I forget sometimes that I need better/healthier perspective to stop it.
