I was 16 my first stay inpatient. Remarkably, I remember almost nothing about it (probably because I was so drugged out). What I do remember, however, is the patronizing and condescending look I received when I advised the nurse
Possible trigger:
I will never forget it either. I also remember the shock of them taking my shoe laces. Neither my mom nor I had any idea they weren't allowed. My experience was not so traumatic but upsetting none the less. What is it about locked wards that is so intimidating?
