hey Valjean24601. been in the same situation. my parents reacted totally the same when I decided to study artistic major. they still hate me because of that. but in my opinion, follow your dreams. I think after all it's better to be poor but happy then rich but unhappy. when I used to study I felt alive, when I had stop I've lost so much.. don't give up your dreams, I think you should listen to your heart, it's your life, not your parents. they won't live for you. someday you will move out, have own family, and you may regret not following your heart.. and regret is such a bad feeling..
and other people, ignore them like they would be a wind which will pass away. people who don't follow their passions are often miserable inside and ends up as typical haters, not worth to being listened to.
