I had that happen to me in the past couple of weeks. I left my psychiatrist a message telling her that I would no longer be seeing her and got no response from her either. It was no loss to me though because I never really liked or trusted her. I have an appointment with a new psych in a couple of weeks and I am hoping it goes much better for me at this new office.
I'm sorry that your experience with this T was so awful. But please don't let this one unethical person deter you from seeking help from someone who truly will care about you and want to help you. There are some of those out there! I don't know if you've tried this but psychologytoday.com is a good resource for finding a T in your area. It lists what they specialize in, if they have sliding scale, take insurance, etc. And a lot of them will provide a free phone consultation. It might be worth a shot. And for what it's worth, I don't think you were expecting too much from your T at all. You expected her to do her JOB and that is what she should have done. She really dropped the ball.
I have given my T permission to contact my PCP before but she asks me every time before she wants to contact her and it's always only about health concerns. She would never share notes or anything.
