I love sleeping, but I'm not sure taking NyQuil every night is a good thing. I'm not sick. I've been taking it on/off for a year.

Just curious...
The combination of alcohol (NyQuil is 25% alcohol = 50 proof), dextromethorphan and an antihistamine ( either doxylamine or diphenhydramine) is big time sleepy time.

Zquil just contains diphenhydramine-Benadryl. I'm a doc, and that's my "professional " opinion.

Yes, it does work well! But taking it also means you're taking acetaminophen every day -and that's not a good thing unless you need it for pain. To get the same effect without the acetaminophen you can take Benadryl 50 mg plus a dose of Delsym ( over-the-counter dextromethorphan), and a shot of your favorite whisky. Not recommending that, but it's safer than the NyQuil with the acetaminophen.
