One thing I've found and told my friends is that when I'm depressed it helps me get out of it if people force me to do things and to be social even when I have anhedonia and don't enjoy doing those things. So i tell my friends "please help make me do things" just to break my isolation and unhealthy routine. I've been suffering since 2003 or so but have only been diagnosed since 2012.
