My brother, who was a widower, married a couple weeks ago. The wedding reception was held today in a city about an hour and a half's drive from here.
My neice couldn't attend and loaned me her car so that I could more safely drive my Mom. When I went to get Mom, I did her hair for her and talked her into letting me put a tiny bit of makeup on her. She looked so beautiful.
The bride's family had decorated the church so beautifully and they and their friends were so very nice. Everyone made Mom and me feel special and welcome.
The bride's older sister and cousin both made a small speech, so I arose and made one on behalf of my brother. One by one, several people rose and shared how happy they were for my brother and his new wife.
My brother and sister-in-law literally glowed with happiness. They have both had great heart break and sorrow in their lives. I'm so glad they have each other now.
The food was delicious. For years I have never dared to eat when I travel because of the colitis. Well, I tried it and I didn't get sick! I had a tiny panic attack, but I made it through it.
The drive back was very nice and Mom and I got along just fine. My family never has perfect days. Never! Today was a perfect day for all, and I am still basking in a golden glow which I have never before experienced.
I just wanted to share some good news with you for a change.
Hugs,
Jan
