yes putting someone on ignore protects you from being triggered by anything they post but does not stop the other person from having full access of the site, including reading any posts.
if there is something you dont want others to read (ie other psych central members or anyone who is not registered as a member Basically the whole world) you can contact a moderator and they can help you with the situation by editing the post or by removing/deleting the post if it can still be deleted.
A rule I set for me is that if its too private for the whole world to see then its too private for me to post on psych central ( or anywhere on the internet) due to anyone in the whole world can google psych central and read the boards with out logging in\registering. (to see what the whole world sees that you have posted log out then with out logging back in come back to psych central and read. that will give you a good idea of how to reassess what you want to post about yourself, your life, your problems.
