I think you put your pdoc in a difficult place.
Not sure if this will help you, but here is my food thing to help my pancreas work better by not challenging it with many carbos and sugar (or alcohol).
I have to watch what I eat because foods I eat can stabilize my moods or exaggerate them. A high protein low carb diet with snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my imbalances from past abuse of carbos to ease my pain.
Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central.
