I've found that lower doses of seroquel made me much more sleepy than higher doses. I take 200 mg before bed and another 200 mg around noon. If I lay down and go to sleep, then it helps me stay asleep. However, if I'm up and doing things (like when I take the noon dose) then I'm fine and it doesn't make me sleepy at all.
When I first started taking it, my pdoc started me at a very low dose and it knocked me out almost instantly. The lower dose also made me very irritable. As I ramped up my dose, those side effects faded.
It works great on my agitation and anxiety!
