I am sorry that you have to go through this and I hope that things get better soon.
I have nightmares frequently about the sexual abuse that happened to me a little over a year ago. And sometimes specific articles of clothing or smells trigger me and I feel really anxious and on edge.
It's really hard but hopefully with therapy you can process it and the feelings won't be so bad.

Also there are some medications that help reduce the span of REM sleep (like Minipress) so that the chances of having those dreams is less likely.
