I know I should be following my dreams, but I still rely on them financially. How do I tell them all this? I really want to, but whenever I try to think of the right words, my mind turns to mush. I'm just too afraid of how they're going to react.
But the problem is I don't know how to tell them. Everytime I try to think of something my brain fries. I fear of the outcome so much it's like I can't think straight.

Someone mentioned writing a letter. I think that's a great idea. My advice is to make the letter quite specific about what your plan for the future is. For example, (I honestly don't know how the theater/TV business works so forgive me if none of this applies) you could say to them, "I'm looking for x kind of 'day job' to support myself while I go to x number of auditions per week." Then show them listings of these jobs or auditions so they understand they are real. If you need something from them like money, be very specific about what you want: "I will need $x per month to help with rent until x date when I hope to have enough money to support myself."
Basically what I'm trying to say is maybe if you show them this isn't a vague dream but a real *plan*, they will be willing to negotiate with you over what kind of support they can provide. Be specific in terms of *what* you are going to do *when* and exactly what you are expecting from them.
