Where I'm from originally (in the southeast) fried catfish fillets cornmeal coated, are on every menus. Usually served with cold slaw, fries or baked potato. It is very very tasty!
Amazingly now Mexican food is close second in that state. Although it is a tame version of what I prefer where I live now.
