You might want to go to the library and see what books there might be helpful for retirees. I like Suze Orman. She seems to have solid financial suggestions and maybe she has something. If you aren't already doing this, tracking your expenses each month can be enlightening. Just stopping for a soda at a convenience store everyday (I used to do this) adds up over a month's time.
I don't know if you are able to or interested in part-time employment but if you are tapped out on what you can save on the spending side, then generating some income is another idea. At some point a reverse mortgage might make sense if you own a home - would have to check that out.
