Trust me, you do not want to become an addict. It's one of the hardest things to shake; psychologists help as mentioned. Plain and simple, I've almost died a few times due to addictions because of overdose. The sad thing is that I went right back at it the next day. Even when I got new friends there were still drugs available(benzos, painkillers, cocaine, etc. Now that I have professional help I only use marijuana on top of my heavy dose of meds; I'm happy I haven't drank in 3 years. I've tried yoga, hypnosis, and running. Soccer used to be my escape before one of my knees buckled.

Counseling is probably the best idea for you. I hope you find your solution
