Oh yeah! When I first switched to an automatic I was forever stomping on the floorboard trying to step on the clutch. Even hit the brake pedal a few times! 
I've been driving the automatic for eight years now. There are still times when I'm really tired and running on autopilot myself that I try to "shift."
