Hi arundelle, is there any chance you've attached the photo to your profile image but not your avatar image??
If so, shortest way I know is to go to your subscriptions page and scroll down to "Settings and Options" down the page a little, and "Edit avatar" and do the same as you did to set the photo on your profile page.
