Thank you so much for posting this! It's inspiring to me. I went through losing my ability to work in my career field about 20 years ago. It was very difficult. I'm on disability now, but before that I had some low-paying, part-time jobs.

I still find that I mourn the loss of my career at times. Actually, I find that most all losses and psychological issues that I've dealt with pop up again periodically in a mild sort of way.

I went through a period of very rough relations with my parents and siblings because of not understanding and unkind actions on their part. Those are mostly healed now. I keep more of a distance than I used to, but we have "enough" of a relationship. It took several years for us to reach that point, though.

When chronic health problems occur in our lives and when we lose our careers, we have to reinvent large parts of our lives. This is not easy at all. It sounds like you're on the path to doing that really well, though.
