I'm totally different in 3d, very shy, except with family where I am sometimes silly and make inappropriate comments.

If your T says you are seeking attention, is there another way you could get attention that would not annoy people?
Probably not as well, being silly seems to be the best way. I just feel bored in social situations so I blurt things out.

I don't know if this will be of any help to you. I have a very dear friend who is a wonderful caring person. BUT his sense of humor stopped developing about the time he was 12. Plus he does not seem to know when to quit. He will keep going on with a 12 year old's sense of humor and just keep pushing it until people get mad. He seems to be truly unaware that he's crossed a line and gone too far. Could something like that be happening for you?
It's possible, all my sense of humour seems to be of about that age too. Some of it is also a bit dark but it's still childish.
