I literally went through hell over my medications. I had to go to an ER and get an injection to stop the medication I'm currently on. Then I visited my Psychiatrist and she still kept me on it. I didn't go in angry and I think I should have. Now I'm getting a newer psychiatrist that is less stringent. I had peeling fingers which my nurse said wasn't from that medication. That was when I got over the Akathisia and couldn't sleep. I was in motion all over my house and couldn't lay down or stop. Now presently I rub my thumb against my ring finger. I can stop it but it will happen most of the day. I can stop it but it will still keep doing it. I also had vision problems where I couldn't read up close. It's gotten better. I'm still having peeing problems where I have to wait and stand there and eventually it comes out. It's just where it slow and it comes out slow too. Then it comes out normal. Now I'm meeting a newer Psychiatrist that doesn't like a lot of medications. They said he is good and I will be seeing him tomorrow. I also had peeling on my feet and that is still getting better. I went to my primary care physician and they said it's an allergic reaction to the medication I'm taking. They also took me off of clozapine/clozaril. When I had that akathisia is probably one of the worst experiences. Then my nurse really didn't agree with my primary care physician. I do have skin problems like Psoriasis. I'm also seeing a Dermatologist tomorrow. I'm on a number of medications. I also know that all medications do have side effects. It's just that the peeling fingers they are thinking came from the side effects. It started out as a funny feeling on my finger tips. Then it got worse and started to peel my finger tips and fingers. There a lot better now since my PCP gave me special lotion to put on them. Same with my feet and under the foot.
