weekly flowers for a lady that is just a friend seems a bit excessive from a guy's standpoint. In my experience it would seem to imply that you're wanting more from her than friendship and if that's not what you want, yes I think it's too much. Even if you do want that with her without establishing something more intimate (relationship wise) with her first, weekly flowers are a bit over the top.
