I can say I love my therapist. I have had the opportunity to be with him in other contexts than my therapy too and he also shares quite a bit about his life, including some less-than-flattering behaviors (though he does keep the non-flattering to a minimum ) so I do feel like I've got to know him after all these years. It's a sort of liking and admiring him combined with wishing him the best as well as gratitude for all his help, which goes way beyond what he's paid for. It's an interesting feeling to care so deeply about someone who is there to help me. His job IS to help and it's usually about me, though at the same time I truly care about his well-being. It's interesting for me to get to a point of balance between these two aspects.
