This is a really important issue for me during my depressed phases. Typically, I tend to feel terrible until around 3pm, and then things start to feel a bit more normal. I'm definitely going to follow this thread, as I need some help with this too...
Only advices I can give you: First, tell your pdoc immediately. I usually go reclusive and don't speak to anyone. My pdoc encourages me to do this, saying they will be able help much better if I visit/telephone during the periods of crisis so they can see first hand what's going on. Second, don't hide from friends and family. Socializing and physical movement tends to help to re-invigorate the psychological state and break the depressive state. You may feel better if you arrange for coffee with a friend every morning so that you have some reason to leave the house. Thirdly and most basically, don't give into the morning thoughts, try to remain calm and take it one day at a time. It usually passes soon enough, and then you'll be fully functional again.
