I'm not sure where you live...I'm not sure the attorney was asked the right questions...But it appears since he moved it doesn't matter...he gave you his answer...

I had a stipulation order which is what is put in place before a divorce is final...(it took 12 months for it to be final) The stipulation order spelled out visitation, who paid what, lived where, got what vehicles, nothing permanent it is a temporary order, etc...before the actual divorce division was decided on...this protects both parties...
