Perhaps the reason he is hot and cold is because he knows flirting with other women while married is wrong and also him being a boss it is wrong to flirt with your subordinates. I am not judging you as you did nothing wrong at this point, you are just wondering. Wanting something isn't wrong, acting on it unfortunately will be wrong. You and his wife will get hurt in this.
