I do think we become more discerning as we get older. It's hard for the thrice married guy to take....a woman who actually thinks! ( I know this sounds cynical!...)

As for the singles' websites, like Match.com....the men here within my locale...have been on the same site for many years!...most of them. Makes you wonder about what they're looking for! Also, having met a few men this way, I'm abhorred at ever doing this again! One can present himself as anyone and anything on the Internet, only to discover they are not at all what they portended to be....This, from unfortunate experience.
Also...and this is cynical, but I feel an over-50 woman posting a profile on the singles' sites is entering a meat market, and setting herself up for disaster, not to mention, it's humiliating!
