It depends on the content. I tried reading the first few pages of Hornbacher's Madness on Amazon but I found them so triggering I decided not to buy the book after all. I can't read about SI, although I haven't self-injured for 9 years it's still incredibly triggering for me.
But I do read a lot of "crazy" books. An Unquiet Mind is a very good one, for instance.
