Hi jeff,

If your friend is too afraid to go into the office to speak to the doctor, maybe speaking on the phone would help alleviate some of the fear and anxiety before going in for the appointment. That way, the doctor can explain what kinds of questions will be asked, if forms need to be filled out, and basically what the appointment will be like. That may help take more fear away. I know that fear of the unknown or not being taken seriously can freeze someone in their tracks.

Just a thought. I hope it has some merit for your friend
