It may be that for a time, hash was your "solution". I know for me, alcohol was my solution for a long long time. It helped me cope with life, until it stopped working and I got sober and had to find another way to cope.
It could be that hash masked the mental instability, and when you had to stop it, it all came back. Just like meds stop the symptoms, if you suddenly go off of it, the symptoms come back.
Are you on meds for depression and stuff? Do you have a doctor who can prescribe meds for it, so you don't eventually turn back to drugs?
I agree with what was previously stated that hash is psychologically addictive. Though it may not be chemically addictive, we can get addicted to the feeling it provides, especially if it made you feel better.
I'd get to a doc and start getting treated for the depression and PTSD. And if you're already getting treated, maybe they need to adjust the meds.
