Well, I was too tired to write about the thrill of CVS at work last night, so I will now.

I am doing inventory stuff, the phone rings and the pharmacist on duty answers. She's talking to the customer on the phone. 2 people walk up at the same time...one at drop-off, one at pick-up. I go to the drop-off patient first. After I take in his script, I go to help the other customer. After helping her, she yells at me that I am lucky she is a patient person because she was there first and I helped the thug before her. She told me I need to take my job more seriously and started to say other things I forgot. I apologize. The pharmacist is now off her call and comes over. She asks the customer what is wrong and the lady yells that I need to be retrained. The pharmacist apologizes. The lady continues that we should both be fired because we were back there socializing and gabbing and not paying attention to the customers. The pharmacist tells the lady she was on the phone with another customer, so we were not gabbing. The lady yells at the pharmacist that she is not talking to her she is talking to me. She says she is calling cooperate. The lady storms away, as she does the pharmacist asks if there is anything she can do to make the situatuion better, and the lady yells "just leave me alone".

Wow! The whole time she is yelling, I am thinking in my head about her "patient person" comment...no, if you are yelling right now about it, you are not patient...a patient person wouldn't go on and on about it, they might just mention it politely once.
Wow... that must be so tough to deal with in person. I work for a pharmacy too, except it's a mail order pharmacy, so I talk to people on the phone all day long ordering their meds and checking status on their meds, they can be really mean sometimes... I love when they yell at me for 5 straight minutes and then say "Oh I'm not yelling at you." Um, yes you are. I think people get even braver when they're hiding behind their telephone... they can get really nasty sometimes. I get yelled at many times a day. But at least I have the option of sitting there making ridiculous faces at them and flipping them off because they can't see me. Which I do a lot of. This gal that sits behind me is so funny, she puts them on mute and talks back to them. I'm always afraid to do that, my luck my mute button wouldn't work and they'd hear me! You can't exactly do that stuff in person, so it must be really tough to remain professional, I commend you.
Thanks for this!
