Resistance is in the relationship, not the individual. The relationship matters more than the specific theories. Perhaps another T would work better with you.

I tend to be skeptical that a T can pick up any old theory and be effective with it. Someone who is really good at CBT, say, and really believes in it, is, in my view, likely to be less experienced, less effective, less of a fit, in, say, psychodynamic. What is her "best" theory, the orientation that suits her best? Perhaps someone else who has a different orientation as their main resource would be more effective with you.
