I've asked for t's opinions on big decisions, and they have all only discussed the topic further, often without giving me their choice. a lot of the times, I just needed to talk it out further. Sometimes it helps to explain things out loud with another person (even if it's more than once). A few times, t's have "strongly suggested" a particular choice, but made sure to emphasize that ultimately the decision was mine (like my recent iop experiment).
you can always ask her. If she doesn't give you her opinion, at least you can hash it out some more with her as a sounding board.
