I have been having the most difficult time finding a therapist that one takes my insurance Medicare and can address my issues that are in this order of severity: eating disorder, social anxiety and PTSD. Supposedly she could help with the social/ptsd. However when I was talking to her today I explained I wound up in the ER over the weekend and I injured by leg due to the over-exercising she said what does that have to do with the eating disorder - tells me right there she had no clue of eating disorders. I switched off that subject and said I would like to learn coping skills so I don't turn to exercise as my form of release. She then asked me what was stressing me again she knows how isolated I am due to the social anxiety - break me something I could try and I even suggested like exposure type stuff just put out there I am not ready for group type things just yet and that was highest on my list of things I fear. She really didn't off much of what I could do. I got frustrated and left the appt before it was over. I am so tired of this!! I just want to find the help I need and deserve but not many providers are trained for the specific help I need.
