Hmmm, yes even I can get the correlation of injuring your leg and the eating disorder, so I can't say from the top of my head I understand in what context your T made that statement.
I understand you are not ready for group things. I think that we know our best in these types of situations and if your social anxiety is that high and it's causing you significant concern, perhaps this is something that you can look into at a later stage of your recovery.
Just as a suggestion, have you verbally expressed to your current T what you have stated here? Might help for you to get their input. I'm not justifying for one second that what was said was right (especially that link with the exercise - that left me speechless) - because maybe your T needs to be aware that the strategies that are being suggested to you at present are not helping ...
I was thinking rather this approach and then somewhere down the track if it's really not working look into another one? It's just that I think that right now you do need the support of therapy because you're going through a lot.
