Yes it is a stimulat. My husband is an addict, although he is sober now, and he takes this med for his add. We decided to try it because he desperately needed to do something for his add, and we picked this one because it is harder to abuse, but not impossible. It has a time release mechanism to prevent abuse, but taking not during the day time when one is working, or taking more than the dosage would be an abuse of the drug. It is also a schedule I I substance, which pretty much means it has a street value. There is also tolerance and things like that so how the drug is used matters a great deal. Taking too much of this drug is very dangerous, and taking it to prevent sleep is also harmful.
