Yes, there are different communication types, and most people communicate in different ways with different people. (Like how you don't play with your T, but you might play with your friends.) There are dozens of different factors that govern how we communicate and gender is not one of the most important ones. It does factor, in some contexts, but always in combination with other, more significant variables. Gender on its own makes no discernible difference.
