well i was on geodon with a good amount of success, then developed Tardive dyskinesia....meds were halved then cogentin were given and that seemed to do the trick. Was then taken off cogentin and was fine for a long time, about a year. Then the TD came back and doc switched me to latuda, within a few weeks of the TD from the geodon disappearing, I got new symptoms. My left arm slouches, its difficult to chew, difficult to talk in long conversations. I have weird movements with my arm in the morning. Now its Tardive Dystonia.
I have seen a neurologist movement specialist, who says I should stay on the current treatment and take muscle relaxers to ease the symptoms. He even mentioned coming off the antipsychotics. My psych has mentioned clozapine....given in dosages of one week supply and blood tests every week. That really doesn't appeal to me. Wish I could get the opinion of an expert for my situation. Anyone have any suggestions?
