When I'm strongly tempted to hurt myself, sometimes I play the 15 minute game. The idea is that you choose whetted to harm or not, it's your choice. If you choose not to, wait 15 minutes, occupy or distract yourself, do something positive, at the end of 15 minutes, if the urge is still there, choose again, if you choose not to, repeat the process...
