I took Effexor XL for years. Along with it I was prescribed Xanax for anxiety which I have taken for even more years. Xanax is and excellent anti anxiety drug and I just do not believe in all the bad press it gets as being so addictive and even causing suicidal tendencies.

I was told if you need Xanax it will simply make you more normal like and that is the case with me. It has been wonderful although some doctors totally refuse to prescribe it. I just do not understand that attitude.

Effexor on the other hand is now out of my system after many years and I will not ever take it again. The sexual side effects were totally debilitating in that department and when I finally decided to stop it the withdrawal was pure hell. It took me over a month and a half to withdraw.
