My boyfriend makes plans with me then cancels at the last minute for work, or being tired, or... anything. When he calls he always has to get off the phone after only a minute. If I say anything to keep the conversation going, he says "I have to do XYZ or I feel tired/busy etc and I want to get off the phone. IS THAT OK WITH YOU??? With your PERMISSION I'm going to go, do I have your PERMISSION?" This is after literally only being on the phone one minute and me just asking a question about something in our lives that would require him to talk to me a tiny bit longer, not demanding he stay on the phone. He tells me he loves me and misses me when he's away, so I know its not just because he wants to break up- he is very outspoken and would have said that if he wanted to.
