Sorry you are having trouble sleeping misslabarinth. The past trauma can be an issue or the meds may need to be adjusted - talk to your pdoc about that.

For me, paranoia diminishes as I am more grounded. Examples of activities that can ground me are counting breaths, mindfulness practice on a regular basis, passive stretching, yoga, exercise, and staying away from carbs like starches, sugar and alcohol.

Finding ones that work for you is the art of living.

Hope today is better for you. I find that doing passive stretching and yoga in the bed helps me feel good enough to practice breathing and mindfulness. When I finish that I am ready for breakfast. A high protein low carb diet has done wonders for my energy level but it can take an extended period for the cravings for high carb meals to subside.
