I've been thinking about this issue you're having. I was on bed rest, and couldn't sleep at all because I had no exercise and never got tired out. As nuts as it may seem, maybe that's what some of the problem is. If you're not doing anything, you're not getting tired enough to really sleep well, and since you're not really resting, you're tired. Perhaps you should try to exercise enough to really wear yourself out and see if that resets your sleep cycle.
