Aloha Absurd,
I started losing my ability to "feel" about 7-years ago. (Anhedonia) It started with a loss of interest in music, then all activities I used to enjoy, then sex, then food, now everything.
Really a difficult situation to deal with. I have come off the Klonapin in hopes of getting some GABA receptors back in my brain which may help a little. The docs are not sure why this has happened to me, perhaps its 30-years of being on anti-depressants, perhaps its from other medical issues I have, (thyroid & gut problems) and perhaps no one will ever figure it out.
I hope you have a good physician who can eliminate the problem as being a medical issue. I would also encourage you to keep pressing your doc's to help you figure this out before it goes on any longer.
There is quite a bit of research going on right now to isolate and treat neurotransmitters that may contribute to this symptom...I hope they figure it out soon...ARGGG
As for me... I'm really working hard to find a solution or some relief whatever that may be. I'm trying Ketamine in a few weeks, not holding my breath but...who know?
